SCIENCE OUTSIDE THE BOX-VOLUME II
Sint-Jacobskapel, Nijmegen, 24 November 2017, 19.15 - 21.30 h

Lih Lah Yoga and Radboud Postdoc Initiative organize "Science outside the box" meetings with the aim to inspire scientists to think outside the box of using their skills and talents. We hope this will provide an entertaining evening and stimulating platform where scientists can reflect and connect with others and talk openly about unconventional topics. This may lead to new collaborations and initiatives that are close to their heart and dreams.
In this second edition, scientists and non-scientists will provide you with surprising perspectives and initiatives in science. Empowerment, communication, connection, innovation and fun are keywords for this evening.
Biologist Jessica Kundapur will tell us about what inspired her to write her book: Fabulupus - How to be young, successful and fabulous (with lupus), and how this opened up unexpected chances for her career as Clinical Research Professional and Marketing Specialist. Music and theatre producer Tom Kortbeek will show how scientists and artists closely collaborate in innovative projects of his KunstLAB (ArtLAB) in Arnhem. Ian Cameron, senior neuroscientist at Donders Institute, is currently completing a part-time Executive MBA program and will share with us how modern management techniques could be applied to academic research organizations. Discover your own Super Power with Barry Fitzgerald, Research Scientist at Delft University of Technology, who will demonstrate how he communicates science to the public through his massive fascination of Super Heroes. Finally, Laetitia Zweers and Yvonne van Bergen from MadScience Gelderland will reveal the fun of original educative programmes for kids. Afterwards there is time for drinks and networking.
