Inspirational Simon Borg-Oliver!

Last week Simon Borg-Olivier visited Yogapoint in Nijmegen to give 3 workshops. Lih Lah Yoga attended two of them. Main learning points: 1. breathe less! We tend to breathe too much and too deep during our classes, but the goal is to reduce the amount of breaths. Simon let us experience that if you have an active pose, the breathing goes by itself more naturally and efficiently. 2. Once you force yourself too much, you might get a nice stretch, but you lose the yoga. ALWAYS be kind to your body. Get out of the comfortzone, but to an extend you can stay relax and be soft. We all forget it sometimes. 3. Get active in a pose, don't use your hands to position yourself in a certain way or let the gravity do the work. This way you can learn to know your body better and be gentle with it. 4. Be careful with backbends! Most injuries in yoga occur in lower back. Also be careful with hamstrings.
